Amacrolide antibiotic, Clarigard 500 MG Tablet is used in the treatment ofinfections caused by bacteria. The infections may include pneumonia,respiratory tract infections, lyme disease, strep throat, skininfections, H. pylori infection, among others. It is categorised as anbroad-spectrum antibiotic which protects againstmycoplasma, chlamydia and mycobacteria and other gram-negative andgram-positive bacteria. It works by decreasing protein production of thesebacteria. It is available in the form of tablets, pills and liquids.

Medicines like cisapride, primozide, ergotamine and lovastaincause life-threatening interactions with Clarigard 500 MG Tablet and thereforeshould not be taken without consulting a doctor.Clarigard 500 MG Tablet shouldnot be used during pregnancy except in cases where no alternativemedication is available as it may potentially cause harm to the foetus. Thisdrug enters breast milk in mild quantities which usually does not affect theinfant. However, let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding.
