Uses
Lenalidomide isused to treat certain cancers (multiple myeloma, mantle celllymphoma-MCL). It works by slowing or stopping the growthof cancer cells. It is also used to treat anemia inpatients with certain blood/bone marrow disorders (myelodysplasticsyndromes-MDS). Lenalidomide may lessen the needfor blood transfusions.
Lenalidomide is notrecommended for the treatment of a certain type of cancer (chroniclymphocytic leukemia) because of the increased risk ofserious heart-related side effects and death. If you have this typeof cancer, talk to your doctor about the risks of usingthis medication.
How to use LenalidomideCapsule
Readthe Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before youstart taking lenalidomideand each time you get a refill. If you have anyquestions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medicationby mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usuallyonce daily. Swallow this medication whole with water. For treatment of certainconditions (multiple myeloma, MCL), you may be instructed to take thismedication in cycles (once daily for 21 days, then stopping the medication for7 days).

Diarrhea, stomach/abdominalpain, nausea/vomiting, loss ofappetite, constipation, dizziness, dry skin, dry mouth,or trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects last or getworse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Beforetaking lenalidomide, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you areallergic to it; or to thalidomide; or if you have anyother allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients (such aslactose), which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to yourpharmacist for more details.
